The Capital Women's Care Frederick Ambulatory Surgical Center and the ENK Surgi-Center are beautifully-designed, gynecologic surgical facilities with certified, operating suite procedure rooms, and fully-equipped recovery areas. Our Centers provide a full range of outpatient surgical services in the most accessible, convenient, and comfortable settings.
We feature the most advanced surgical technology available. This, along with the experienced medical staff of gynecologists from Capital Women's Care, a team of superbly trained nurses and anesthesiologists create our truly special gynecologic surgery centers.

Outpatient Surgery
Your doctor's office will provide you with detailed instructions regarding your procedure. Please review the following instructions at the time your procedure is scheduled. If you have any questions, please call your physicians office directly.
Preparing for Surgery
- Review with your doctor all medications that you are taking. He or she will let you know which ones may be taken on the day of surgery.
- Prior to your procedure complete all laboratory tests requested by your doctor.
- Do not take aspirin or ibuprofen type products for 14 days prior to your procedure.
- Do not smoke or drink alcoholic beverages after midnight the night prior to your surgery
- Take nothing by mouth, after midnight, the night before except necessary medication that has been approved by your doctor (such as a blood pressure pill) which may be taken with a sip of water the morning of your procedure.
Surgery Day
- You must be fasting the day of your surgery.
- Please bring your health insurance card and a photo ID.
- Do not wear heavy eye make up.
- Leave valuables and jewelry at home.
- You must be driven home after your procedure. If you plan on taking a taxi and have had anesthesia you must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
After Surgery
- If you have problems or concerns contact your physician's office directly.
- If you are unable to reach your own doctor and you think it is an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
